UPDATE November 2013: Betsy Hodges won her bid to become Mayor of Minneapolis.
When Betsy Hodges won her seat on the Minneapolis City Council in 2005, she broke a 12-year slump for Democrats in Ward 13. Since then, she has earned the trust of her constituents as Chair of the city’s Ways and Means/Budget committee, where she has delivered balanced budgets and city services, without raising property taxes.
Her tireless efforts to solve the city’s structural pension issues have allowed the city to commit millions of dollars to important needs like health care, education, and jobs programs, while holding the line on property taxes.
