Join us here as we do a live chat on and cover the 2012 State of the Union address. We’ll be doing the online version starting at 6 pm PT / 9 pm ET at the official White House livestream. Feel free to pick your poison as to the channel you watch — MSNBC, PBS, and C-Span all tend to have less annoying commentary, but you may be interested in the framing for non-political junkies who watch network or other coverage.

I’ve done this before, and I like the enhanced broadcast because you get charts and data that supplement the President’s speech. There’s also a standard livestream which is simply the audio/visual with no extra data supplied. Usually afterward they have some key administration officials on hand to provide more information and give context to a group of attendees which is also livestreamed.

When you see the Cover-It-Live window, which I’ll add closer to the event on this page, just add yourself using your twitter handle or create a screenname for yourself. The regular firehose of Twitter can be a bit overwhelming, so we’ll try to tag our tweets #MOMoSOTU in case you’re out in the big swim.

We anticipate having the following MOMocrats with us:

See you Tuesday night!
