Yesterday, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence released a chilling new PSA, which recreates the shooting of Trayvon Martin. The aim is to gather signatures for their Stand Up to Stand Your Ground campaign:
Another young man with a gun, another elementary school, this time in Georgia. Fortunately, this time no one was hurt — thanks to the heroic efforts of school clerk Antoinette Tuff:
Ms. Tuff prevented the people in that school from being added to this year’s tally of gun deaths: 6,779 people have been killed by guns in the United States this year as of this writing.
That number includes Christopher Lane, an Australian student in Oklahoma who went out jogging only to be brutally shot and killed by three teenagers whose motive was — they had nothing better to do.
