The GOP has given up on persuading voters to support them for their policies and ideas — because they’ve overwhelmingly unpopular. So they have doubled down on rigging the system via voter suppression and gerrymandering. This does not bode well for the 2022 midterms, when Democrats must defy conventional wisdom and increase their congressional majorities, as well as their showing in statehouses around the country.
