This week has been one of good news and bad news. The Biden Administration has overseen the administration of 100 million COVID vaccines – 40 days sooner than the President originally promised. However, the new, more dangerous variants of the virus appear to have stemmed the progress the nation has made in stemming the pandemic, and there are new hot spots around the country.
The House has passed Biden’s sweeping immigration plan, which includes a path to citizenship for DREAMERS and migrant farm workers. In the meantime, the anti-immigration right has seized upon a surge of unaccompanied minors and some border crossings and deemed it a “crisis at the border.” It’s not – but those are the official talking points this week.
And a horrific mass murder in Georgia has highlighted this country’s ongoing problem with hatred of our fellow Americans who are of Asian descent, which was exacerbated by Trumpian description of COVID as the “China virus,” etc.
