At the start of July, the country was hopeful that we’d seen the worst of the Covid pandemic. And then Delta said, “Hold my beer.” This week, the CDC revealed awful statistics about both the transmissibility and severity of the Delta variant that is now dominant in the US – including the news that fully vaccinated people can spread the virus just as efficiently as those without vaccines.
MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills lament this Groundhog-Day new phase of the pandemic, and wondering if more entities requiring proof of vaccination (the dreaded “vaccine passports”) will spur the hesitant to finally take action.
The MOMocrats will also talk about the emotional opening testimony of the House select committee investigating the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, as well as new revelations about Trump’s pressure on the Department of Justice to overturn the election. There will also be discussion of the fight for voting rights – and maybe even a real infrastructure week.
MOMocrats MOMochat is part of the DemCast family of podcasts.
